Skullduggery and the connivance of friends and a local sail maker resulted in an announcement read by the entire Burnham waterfront. Here's to you, Rob!

707 Phantom Trophy

The Phantom Trophy is raced for in 707s over a five race series, with two offshore races, 2 short inshore races and one long distance inshore race and no discards. The Phantom is the oldest known yachting trophy, pre-dating the America's Cup by 18 years and was first presented to the yacht Vestris in 1833.

Four perfect bullets for Pocket Battleship see them crowned Hunter 707 East Coast champions for the second year in a row. Hosted by the Royal Corinthian YC in Burnham over the May bank holiday weekend five boats made the trip from Hamble to join the growing local fleet and all enjoyed a weekend of testing conditions, glorious sunshine and some very sticky mud...
