The Corinthian Otters is the largest organisation for youth sailing on the Crouch Estuary and one of the biggest clubs on the East Coast. Open to all children aged between 7 and 18, we provide weekly sailing sessions on Saturday mornings from late March through to mid November.
Beginners join our pond group to learn the basics of sailing using our club optimist dinghies before progressing onto the river in their own boat. Once on the river most children start sailing in Optimists before moving onto boats such as Toppers, RS Teras, RS Fevas, Cadets or Lasers. Our regular sailing sessions are grouped into fleets – Optimists Level 1, 2 and Race, Slow Handicap (Cadets, Toppers, Teras, Fevas) and Fast Handicap (Lasers, RS200s) with each fleet having a designated lead Trainer for the season.
Otter Week 2017
Otter Week 2017 has been confirmed and will run from Saturday 12th to Thursday 17th August 2017.
Membership of the club is open to all youth sailors in the range of 7 to 18 years, and beginners can join our pond group to learn the basics of sailing prior to progressing to the river itself. Membership is available to children of both members and non members of the RCYC. For more details contact the Membership Secretary.
