David Yelloly, a country member based in the West Midlands, is not a frequent visitor to the Burnham Club but certainly does his bit to take the Club's Ensign to far-flung places. Spirit of Montpelier, his Oyster 72, competed in the recent Spring Regatta in the British Virgin Islands where she won in the cruiser performance division.
Having scored a first place, followed by two more firsts, then a fourth and a first, the opposition was comprehensively beaten. David confessed that there was a photo of the cup taken, but there was too much celebration for him to remember who took it!
Spirit is now off to Antigua to see if the performance can be repeated. Congratulations!
