The club has been successful in its bid to host the Eastern qualifier event for the The British Keelboat League, in association with Royal Thames Yacht Club and the RYA.
The British Keelboat League is a nationwide inter-club competition promoting concentrated keelboat fleet racing.
The event consists of a series of short course fleet racing and is designed for teams of 4-5 to sail in One Design matched keelboats. The club will be using 707s for its part of the event.
The type of racing is designed to make exciting, high speed sailing and minimise the spread in the fleet, and with a target time of 15 minutes per race, the emphasis is on as many short races in as quick succession as possible.
With over 100 sailors competing in 2016 it is sure to be a busy weekend, full of competitive racing.
