Saturday morning sailing for Otter members
So we try again for our first sail of the season this week after last weekend's biting winds saw us all scurrying for the duvet!
The first sail of the season is always exciting and great fun - but probably will be a little slower than usual as we all get back into the swing of things. One thing is for sure - the water will definitely be COLD so bring all your warmest kit, hats, gloves and appropriate footwear. Remember as well to bring a nice warm coat to wear while you rig your boat.
Parents please come prepared to assist wherever you are able - we are a volunteer run group so your help is required to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Special Instructions for each group as follows:
River 1 Group - Refresher Session at the Pond with Phil and Andrew
This "referesher" session is for those sailors who completed last year on the pond and now wish to move up to the River using their own boat. Please arrive at the pond by 9.30am. The session will make use of the club owned Optimist training boats.
Sessions for the 2018 Pond Group will commence on Saturday 14th April.
River 2 Dolphins - with Justin and Tony
Please meet in the dinghy park for 10am. The plan is to rig all the boats and check them over, and then depending on the weather either go out as a group or in small numbers.
It might well be cold, so please wear plenty of layers, and good gloves and a hat, ideally not a woollen however pretty, and bring at least one snack (we're not sure if Justin meant for yourself or to give to him, so best bring plenty!)
Oppie Race Group, Toppers and Teras
Will be sailing with Mark - please be rigged and ready for a 9.45am briefing and we will launch straight after - dress warm!
Laser Fleet - with Steve
Please arrive by 9.30am for a 10am launch. Remember to wrap up warm.
We understand that the majority of the Feva fleet and their Trainers are away this weekend but if there is anyone still intending to sail in a Feva please email Kate at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know so that we can organise training for you.
