Otter Sailing

Saturday 26th May 2018

Saturday morning marks the start of a great Bank Holiday weekend of sailing in Burnham on Crouch!   Firstly we have our regular Otter sailing starting at 9.30am - instructions as per below.  Then, from Saturday afternoon and throughout the Bank Holiday weekend the RBYC are running their popular Whitsun Regatta for keelboats and dinghies.  Aimed at dinghies with a PY rating of 1364 and below this is a great event for all our Otters sailing Teras and upwards.  Optimist sailors need not miss out as on Sunday and Monday the RBYC Cadets will be running the Minerva Cup - full details below.  Entry to both of these events is via the RBYC website as per the links below.

All the sailing is of course weather dependent so let's hope that the sun shines and the wind blows just enough but not too much!

OTTER SAILING SATURDAY MORNING

Pond Group

Graeme is off competing himself this weekend (good luck!) and so the Otter Vice Commodore, Tom Rands, has kindly offered to step in for him.  At just 17 Tom is a fully qualified Dinghy Instructor and has been sailing with the Otters since he was 9 years old so he knows a thing or two about learning to sail.  That said, even though we are sure he'll be brimming with confidence, Tom will no doubt welcome plenty of help and support from all the pond parents so do come prepared to assist!

Please arrive at the pond by 9.30am

River Groups

All our river groups will be out sailing on Saturday morning - please arrive by 9.30am to get rigged, ready and launch safety boats.
