Trying for the Cadet Worlds Team

»«28th July 2008

The results of the final indicator selected the top eight boats for the GBR team, the top seven to be entered as the team for the 'World Championships Regatta in Medemblic, Holland' and the 8th boat acting as reserve. Two Otter with William Kennedy & Loni Lillienthal and George Ayre & Nick Sutton qualified in the top seven team positions.

8th place went to Sam Robinson and Emily Peters from West Kirby. Sam had a fantastic series, consistently finishing in the top 20, and often in the top 10. This is even more impressive given that this was Sam's first (and as it turns out last) season in a Cadet. After much soul searching, Sam decided that as he was already committed to events in a 420, he would have to decline the reserve position for Medemblik. As a result the team place passed on to 9th position - with many congratulations, Alex Young and Jack Hardie for that coveted team place.

So... the team now is as follows:-

8511 Tom Kinver & Jamie Proffitt (Exe and Fishers Green)
9575 Joanna Freeman & Holly Francis (Parkstone)
9631 James Hayward & Alex Warrington (Waldringfield / Thorpe Bay)
8539 William Kennedy & Loni Lillienthal (Otters)
9382 Alex Horlock & Tim Pearce (Exe)
8434 Josh Flack & Naomi Flack (Parkstone)
8542 George Ayre & Nick Sutton Otters)
8513 Alex Young & Jack Hardie (Frensham Pond)
